From AC Milan to PSG: Why alessandro Longoni chose Paris

🇮🇹

Alessandro Longoni has completed a free transfer move from AC Milan to Paris Saint-Germain at the age of 19. The teenage goalkeeper confirmed his happiness about the switch in an interview with PSG’s official website.

The deal marks PSG’s first confirmed incoming transfer of the summer, ending a slow start to the transfer window. Longoni, who represents Italy at youth level, described the move as an opportunity to test himself alongside elite players and coaches.

In his own words, Longoni said: “It’s an opportunity to test myself and train with a great coaching staff and world-class players at a state-of-the-art training centre.” He added that the club’s growth over the past twenty years and the presence of top-level coaches and players influenced his decision.

Longoni also expressed his belief that Paris Saint-Germain would provide the ideal environment to develop both as a goalkeeper and as a person. “I’m convinced that at Paris Saint-Germain, I’ll have the opportunity to continue to grow, both as a goalkeeper and as a man,” he said.

The young Italian joins a club without a settled first-choice goalkeeper, which could accelerate his pathway to first-team football. His arrival comes as PSG continue to shape their squad for the new season under their current technical setup.

Elsewhere in transfer news, Randal Kolo Muani’s potential departure to Juventus appears to be in doubt, with negotiations reportedly stalling. Meanwhile, PSG are keen to retain academy talent Ibrahim Mbaye, though the winger has been pushing for a move away, with Premier League clubs monitoring his situation closely.

PSG’s official app, PSG Talk, has encouraged fans to follow their coverage by adding the platform as a preferred source on Google.
