Tottenham's rebuilding hinges on securing Rafael Leao

🇬🇧

Tottenham Hotspur, fresh from a season of rebuilding under Roberto De Zerbi, are eyeing Rafael Leao as the missing attacking spark, after AC Milan signalled they are ready to part ways with the Portuguese forward and have opened discussions with his representatives.

Milan have decided to part ways with Rafael Leao and confirmed he is not part of Ruben Amorim’s plans. La dello Sport reports the Rossoneri have begun discussions with the forward’s entourage, yet no concrete offers have emerged, with Barcelona showing only limited interest and Manchester United remaining at the enquiry stage.

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest is being gauged, and the club has been offered the chance to sign the Portuguese attacker. Leao has ruled out moves to Saudi Arabia or Turkey, narrowing his options to European destinations.

His representatives are instructed to seek offers that do not fall below €60‑70 million. If negotiations stall, Milan could resort to a loan deal that includes an obligation to buy.

While doubts linger over Leao’s work‑rate, a fresh challenge could revive his output. Roberto De Zerbi’s system favours attackers who exploit spaces against pressing opponents, a role that could give Leao ample room to attack.

De Zerbi’s side are rebuilding after last season’s struggles and aim to return to the level they consider their rightful place. The club’s ambition aligns with the potential impact of a player of Leao’s calibre.

Kaustubh Pandey of GIFN compiled the details of the ongoing transfer saga. Further developments will depend on Milan’s final valuation and Tottenham’s willingness to meet the financial threshold.
