Infantino breaks silence on Balogun case after Trump call
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has finally spoken on the Folarin Balogun controversy, issuing an official statement that reaffirms the independence of FIFA’s judicial bodies after a flurry of calls, including a recent confirmation from U.S. President Donald Trump that he had contacted the federation.

In an official FIFA communiqué, Infantino stated, "I wish to reaffirm a fundamental principle of FIFA governance. The judicial bodies of FIFA are independent. Infantino added that he receives calls from heads of state, government officials, football actors and business leaders worldwide on many topics.
