Aston Villa add midfield depth with Norway cap Justine Kielland

🇬🇧

Aston Villa have completed the signing of 23‑year‑old Norwegian international midfielder Justine Kielland, announced in an official club press release on Monday morning, adding a new midfield option as the Villans continue to build their squad for the upcoming season.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Villans this morning. The announcement confirmed the arrival of Justine Kielland.

Kielland arrives from German Frauen‑Bundesliga side VfL Wolfsburg, where she spent two seasons. During her spell, she helped the She‑Wolves compete strongly in domestic competitions and in Europe.

Before moving to Germany, Kielland played in Norway with Stabæk FK. She also featured for SK Brann, adding experience in the Norwegian league.

On the international stage, Kielland has earned 16 caps for Norway. She has been involved with the senior national team squad since her first call‑up in October 2023, though she has yet to score for her country.

The midfielder becomes Aston Villa’s fourth signing of the summer transfer window. The club confirmed the addition as part of its ongoing squad development.

After joining Villa, Kielland said, “It’s an amazing feeling. I’m really excited now to finally be here. Putting on the jersey for the first time feels really good, I’m excited to get started.” She added, “I had some really good talks with the people here. It feels like a really good place to be and, ultimately, I just had a really good feeling.”

Kielland will look to open her scoring account for Norway while establishing herself in the Villa midfield. Her integration will be monitored as she adapts to the WSL’s pace and physicality.
