Tebas hails Barcelona’s financial turnaround at Laporta’s inauguration
La Liga president Javier Tebas praised FC Barcelona’s financial recovery during the inauguration of Joan Laporta’s new board at the Auditori 1899 during the official ceremony, congratulating the club’s leadership and underscoring the importance of the Spotify Camp Nou redevelopment for Spanish football.
Tebas congratulated Laporta and the Board of Directors on their election victory. He said, “I congratulate Joan Laporta and the Board of Directors on the success of these elections, and I am certain that Barça will achieve sporting and infrastructural success.”
He highlighted the club’s economic turnaround. “These have been tough years, but they are now on a great path and have nothing to envy from any other club in this country,” Tebas added.
Tebas also stressed the significance of the ongoing Spotify Camp Nou redevelopment. He described it as important for the club, for Spain, and for the world.
Acknowledging past tensions, he said the relationship between La Liga and Barcelona has improved. He emphasized the need for continued institutional respect.
Concluding his address, Tebas affirmed that Barcelona’s success is also La Liga’s success. “We share the goal of making LaLiga great, and Barça’s successes are La Liga’s successes; that’s what makes Spanish football greater.”
He reiterated La Liga’s willingness to keep working alongside Barça for the benefit of Spanish football. The league and the club will continue to collaborate on future projects.
