Record €55m fee propels Ismael Saibari from PSV to Bayern

🇳🇱
Ismael Saibari becomes a Bayern Munich player as the 25‑year‑old Moroccan international signs a contract until mid‑2031, with PSV receiving a fee that could rise to €55 million, making the transfer the most expensive outgoing deal in the club’s history and marks a new benchmark for the Dutch side. Saibari said his departure carries mixed emotions. "Het is een vertrek met gemengde gevoelens", he told PSV club channels, adding that Bayern Munich is a "waanzinnig mooie club" and that he will miss many people at PSV. He thanked everyone for the endless support from the bottom of his heart. The transfer fee could reach €55 million, with the guaranteed sum reported around €50 million. This makes Saibari the most expensive outgoing transfer in PSV’s history. The previous record was held by Hirving Lozano’s move to Napoli in 2019, and Cody Gakpo, Ibrahim Sangaré and Malik Tillman remain behind him. Saibari arrived at PSV from KRC Genk in 2020. He broke into the first team and logged 142 official matches for the Dutch champions. During that period he recorded 42 goals and 29 assists. This season Saibari was named PSV’s best player and won the VP Award 2026. He impressed in the Eredivisie, in Europe and at the World Cup, where he scored two goals before his transfer was officially confirmed. He also converted the decisive penalty that sent Oranje home. The €55 million fee underscores the growing financial power of clubs like Bayern Munich in the European market. For PSV, the deal provides a historic influx of funds that could reshape its transfer strategy. The record also highlights the increasing valuation of versatile midfielders with proven goal contributions.
