PSV's €7m price tag tests Celta and Genoa's appetite for Driouech
PSV Eindhoven have set a minimum asking price of €7 million for 24‑year‑old left‑winger Couhaib Driouech, with Spanish side Celta de Vigo and Italian club Genoa reported as the only clubs showing concrete interest, the club’s transfer list reveals this summer.
Driouech is not guaranteed a starting place at PSV and is competing with fellow attackers Ruben van Bommel and Ivan Perisic for minutes on the wing. The 24‑year‑old hopes to secure a regular role, either at Eindhoven or elsewhere.
Spanish side Celta de Vigo has been described as seriously interested, while Italian club Genoa also holds a concrete offer on the table. PSV insists on a minimum of €7 million and hints that the final fee could rise by several million more.
PSV’s Van Bommel and Mauro Junior still finding their rhythm
The winger’s contract runs until mid‑2029, binding him to the Philips Stadion for the foreseeable future. This long‑term deal underlines PSV’s desire to obtain a substantial return. After PSV’s 1‑1 training match against Royal Antwerp FC, Driouech said, “My goal this season is to get many minutes, be important. It’s only good that other clubs show interest, it means I had a good season. I want more minutes and to prove myself. If that’s at PSV, great; otherwise we will look elsewhere.” PSV secured Driouech from Excelsior in the summer of 2024, paying roughly €3.5 million for the left‑winger. The club now seeks to recoup more than double that amount. PSV, the reigning Dutch champions, continue to manage their squad amid transfer interest. The club’s willingness to set a high price reflects their ambition to retain key assets.
