Paris Saint‑Germain leads chase as Ferran Torres eyes Barcelona future
In a bustling corner of the Spotify Camp Nou, Ferran Torres and his agents have opened talks with Paris Saint‑Germain, while keeping Barcelona’s front office in the loop, Fabrizio Romano reported. The 26‑year‑old Spain forward, whose contract runs until June 2027, is also fielding interest from several European clubs, according to Romano’s sources.
PSG have emerged as a primary admirer, yet Torres’s representatives are listening to multiple external projects, maintaining open channels with FC Barcelona for a possible extension. Moreover, the imminent arrival of Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund and the club’s pursuit of Atletico Madrid ace Julian Alvarez could complicate Torres’s place in Hansi Flick’s XI at Barça.
Goncalo Ramos’s departure and the expected exit of Randal Kolo Muani have added to PSG’s summer shortlist, where Luis Enrique, a former Spanish national team coach, remains a vocal advocate of Torres’s versatility. Reports from Italy suggest an agreement in principle on personal terms with the Parisian club is already under consideration, while Barcelona have set a €50 million baseline valuation for the forward.
However, Barcelona refuse to sanction a cut‑price departure despite the contract’s final year, and any definitive resolution has been put on ice. The forward is currently fully integrated with the La Roja squad competing in the knockout phases of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with the Spanish side reaching the semi‑finals.
Despite the tournament’s Cup run, Torres has said the final decision will wait until after the competition. A photo by Florencia Tan Jun/Getty Images captured the tense atmosphere at the stadium, while another image by David Ramos/Getty illustrated the fan reaction.
Saint‑Germain’s interest aligns with their broader strategy to reinforce the attack after recent departures. The club’s board traditionally avoids letting key assets enter the final season of their contracts without clarity, a stance echoed by the management.
Will Torres stay at Barcelona or move to Paris remains the big question as the World Cup draws to a close. The situation underscores the delicate balance between sporting ambition and financial prudence for both clubs.
