Manchester United eye Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey for Carrick

🇬🇧 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Manchester United are keeping a keen eye on Sunderland striker Brian Brobbey this off‑season, a report from Fichajes suggests the Red Devils see the Dutch centre‑forward as a good signing for boss Michael Carrick. The 24‑year‑old, who impressed with decent form in the Premier League for the Black Cats, could bolster United’s attack.

Fichajes mentioned that Manchester United have identified Brobbey as a target for the summer transfer window. The report adds that the club view the Dutch talent as a valuable addition to their squad.

Brobbey recorded eight goals and one assist in 33 matches for the Black Cats across all competitions last season. Those numbers underline his contribution during his decent form in the Premier League.

His contract at the Stadium of Light runs until the summer of 2029, meaning United may have to act before the deal expires. The length of the contract could make a cheap move later this year difficult.

A photo by Molly Darlington/Getty Images shows Brobbey of the Netherlands during the FIFA World Cup 2026 Group F match against Sweden in Houston, Texas, on June 20. The image was taken in Houston, Texas – June 20 – and highlights his international experience.

Brobbey can create space for himself, engineer runs into the box and is a strong runner with the ball. He is clever around the opponent’s penalty area but needs to increase his assist numbers to become a more consistent Premier League forward.

Will Brobbey be a good signing for Manchester United boss Michael Carrick? He has Premier League experience and should adapt quickly to Old Trafford, the Theatre of Dreams. At 24, he has his best years ahead, making him a decent signing for Carrick in this summer transfer period.

The addition of Brobbey would give the Red Devils more firepower and help them compete across all fronts in the coming years. His Dutch pedigree and proven record suggest he could challenge for regular first‑team football at the Theatre of Dreams next season.
