Italian club prepares loan bid as Bakayoko eyes Leipzig exit

🇩🇪 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Johan Bakayoko could leave RB Leipzig this summer after Italian side Fiorentina signalled a loan offer, according to transfer journalist Nicolò Schira. The Belgian winger, who joined Leipzig from PSV for €18 million, may swap Germany for Italy before the new campaign begins.

Last summer Bakayoko moved from PSV to Leipzig, with the German club paying €18 million for the Belgian winger’s services. His playing time in Germany was limited as fellow winger Yan Diomande secured a regular spot.

Fiorentina’s proposal is initially structured as a loan deal, five‑year contract prepared by Fiorentina. After a one‑year loan, he could sign an additional four‑year deal, extending his stay until the summer of 2031.

Leipzig will retain a sell‑on percentage on any future transfer of Bakayoko. This clause ensures the German side benefits financially if the player moves on later.

The potential move reflects Fiorentina’s aim to profit from Bakayoko’s situation in Germany. For the Belgian international, a return to a club willing to guarantee regular minutes could revive his development.
