Haaland's emotional World Cup exit fuels Norway's rise
Er Haaland was visibly emotional after Norway’s WK-exit, saying the pressure had been immense and that the experience had changed him. The Noorse striker reflected with pride on the historic WK, noting how the Noren have finally put themselves on the map.
Noorwegen fell 1-2 to Engeland in the quarter‑final, ending their WK run. De match highlighted the progress of the Noorse side despite the narrow defeat.
Haaland recalled the team’s victory over Brazilië as a defining moment, achieved in the Verenigde Staten. He added that the way Noorwegen displayed themselves on that stage, as part of Manchester City’s forward line, will stay with him.
The English midfielder Jude Bellingham was named man of the match after scoring twice. Haaland, who spent two years with Bellingham at Borussia Dortmund, praised his former teammate as a good friend and a fantastic player.
Now Haaland admits he is exhausted and plans to take a vacation. He added that Noorwegen is building something and must hold onto it.
