From Chelsea exit to Paris return: Rosenior lands at Ligue 1 club

🇫🇷
The Stamford Bridge experiment lasted barely four months. Liam Rosenior has been unveiled by Paris FC on Tuesday, three months after his abrupt dismissal by Chelsea. The English coach replaces Antoine Kombouaré, under whom Paris FC finished eleventh in Ligue 1 last season. Rosenior’s Chelsea tenure began at the start of the year when he moved from partner club RC Strasbourg, following Enzo Maresca’s exit. Despite an encouraging start, his spell at Stamford Bridge collapsed into a sequence of five consecutive defeats without scoring a single goal. The club acted swiftly, terminating his contract within four months of his appointment. Paris FC delayed preparations by a week to accommodate Rosenior’s arrival. The club’s decision to part ways with Kombouaré—who took charge in February and guided them to an eleventh-place finish—highlights the urgency around reshaping the squad. Rosenior has signed a contract running until the summer of 2028. "Liam Rosenior possesses all the qualities we were looking for," said sporting director Marco Neppe. "He is a modern, demanding coach, known for his ability to develop both individual players and the team as a whole. Beyond his tactical skills, we were particularly impressed by his management qualities and his capacity to unite a group around a clear vision. I am convinced he has everything needed to succeed at Paris FC and wish him every success in this new chapter." For Rosenior, the move represents a chance to rebuild after a turbulent spell in England. Paris FC, meanwhile, are banking on his experience to steer the club away from mid-table mediocrity toward a more competitive position in Ligue 1.
