Free move fuels Palace’s South London revival with Lloyd‑Smith

🇬🇧 By 4All Football Editorial ·

A three‑year contract secures 23‑year‑old forward Lexi Lloyd‑Smith for Crystal Palace, as the South London club completed her free transfer this evening, adding a proven scorer to the Eagles ahead of the new season. The three‑year deal offers stability and signals the club’s intent to strengthen its attacking options.

WSL Full‑Time received the news via an official media update from the Eagles this evening. Crystal Palace confirmed the signing through its own communication channels.

Lloyd‑Smith arrived at Crystal Palace after departing Bristol City earlier this summer. She had spent two seasons with Bristol City, having joined them from Southampton in the summer of 2024.

In the 2023‑24 Barclays WSL2 season she made 21 appearances for The Robins, scoring 11 goals. Before her stint at Bristol City, she also played for Charlton Athletic in England’s second tier.

The forward was highly rated in her youth, training in the academies of Arsenal and Chelsea in London. She has represented England at various youth levels, most recently the Under‑23 side.

After sealing her move, Lloyd‑Smith said, “It’s almost like it was meant to be – I’m happy to be back in South London, back at home. I know I’m going to be playing for something more now – my roots, where I’m from. I’ll always be proud to be from Peckham. It means everything.”

The three‑year deal gives the South Londoners a pacey attacker with a proven scoring record. It also marks the fourth signing for Crystal Palace in this summer’s transfer window, underscoring the club’s active recruitment of local talent.
