Frankrijk breaks Marokkaanse resistance
Frankrijk has reached the semi-finals of the WK 2026 after breaking down the Marokkaanse defense. Les Bleus won 2-0, with Kylian Mbappé scoring and potentially getting injured later.
The match saw significant surprises in Marokko's starting lineup, including Anass Salah-Eddine and Noussair Mazraoui. Ismael Saibari missed the game due to injury.
In the first half, Frankrijk dominated, and Yassine Bounou kept Marokko in the game. Mbappé missed a penalty, which was saved by Bounou.
In the second half, the game remained unchanged, with Marokko defending and Frankrijk creating chances. However, after over an hour, Mbappé scored the opening goal, curling the ball past Bounou.
This goal marked Mbappé's 20th goal in his 20th WK match. Soon after, Ousmane Dembélé scored the second goal, securing the win for Frankrijk.
Didier Deschamps' side will move on to the semi-finals, while Marokko is eliminated for the second consecutive WK at the hands of Frankrijk.
