Fortuna Sittard eyes KKD-linksback Nick de Groot for €250,000
Fortuna Sittard is looking to plug a left‑back void as they prepare for the Eredivisie campaign, and KKD-linksback Nick de Groot has emerged as the target after technical manager Jesper Gudde confirmed interest and a €250,000 release clause, DTV Nieuws reports.
Fortuna Sittard is ready to boost its squad with the arrival of FC Den Bosch‑verdediger Nick de Groot, DTV Nieuws reports. Technical manager Jesper Gudde confirmed the club’s strong interest and the €250,000 release clause. DTV Nieuws also noted that De Groot has already reached an agreement with the club.
De Groot currently holds a one‑year contract with Keuken Kampioen Divisie‑club FC Den Bosch and could leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2027. The direct move therefore makes sense for both parties.
The left‑back entered the Den Bosch academy in 2017 and featured in 37 duels last season, scoring four goals and providing three assists in the KKD.
Fortuna Sittard has already secured the loan of Ole Romeny from Oxford United and Lequincio Zeefuik from AZ, while midfielder Sven Simons arrived on a free transfer from FC Eindhoven.
If the deal is completed, Nick de Groot will join Fortuna Sittard in the Eredivisie, adding depth to the club’s defensive options for the upcoming campaign.
