Feyenoord’s Hadj Moussa faces Saudi bid as Mahrez exit looms
Feyenoord’s Anis Hadj Moussa is at the centre of a surprise transfer saga after Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli tabled a substantial bid for the Algerian winger. The move comes as Riyad Mahrez’s future at Al Ahli hangs in the balance, with the Algerian star’s contract reportedly under review.
Foot Mercato reported on Monday evening that Al Ahli had lodged a significant offer for Hadj Moussa, with Feyenoord receiving a counter-demand to facilitate his release. The exact financial terms remain undisclosed, though Hadj Moussa remains under contract at Feyenoord until mid-2030.

European interest in Hadj Moussa has already crystallised, with Chelsea, LOSC Lille and Olympique Marseille among clubs to have registered their intent. While the European suitors have signalled their pursuit, Al Ahli is prepared to escalate its pursuit to secure the player’s signature. Transfermarkt currently values Hadj Moussa at €23 million. The Saudi club’s aggressive approach is directly tied to Mahrez’s uncertain status. Despite being contracted until mid-2027, reports suggest his deal could be terminated, creating an immediate vacancy for a winger of Hadj Moussa’s profile. Last season, Hadj Moussa scored 14 goals and provided seven assists in 40 official appearances for Feyenoord.
