Buy‑back move revives Carvajal name as Real Madrid reshapes attack

🇪🇸

Real Madrid have activated a buy‑back clause to bring back 22‑year‑old Ángel Carvajal, addressing the void left by departing captain Dani Carvajal and reinforcing their attacking options after his 20‑goal season with Real Valladolid in the Segunda Division this season.

During his spell with Real Valladolid, Ángel Carvajal scored 20 goals in 32 matches. He also featured in four senior games in the Segunda Division. His record in the youth setup and senior appearances caught the attention of Real Madrid.

Confirmed by the Spanish side, Real Madrid informed Valladolid that it would activate the buy‑back clause for Angel Carvajal's federative rights. Valladolid announced the decision through its official channels and posted a farewell on Instagram, praising his professionalism. Carvajal himself shared a gratitude post on Instagram under the handle @carvaa9.

The striker will return to La Fabrica, where he is set to play for RM Castilla this season. Training with the reserve side will allow him to continue his development within the club's structure. Club officials hope his progress could eventually earn him a place in the senior Real Madrid squad.

Earlier this summer, Dani Carvajal, the Spaniard who captained the side, left the Bernabeu after his contract expired. His departure created a defensive gap that the club intends to fill with new signing Denzel Dumfries. Nevertheless, the Carvajal name remains linked to the Bernabeu as Real Madrid bring back his namesake.
