Bereidwillig PSV stalls Lens' opening bid for Obispo
Bereidwillig PSV has so far rejected RC Lens’ opening offer for 27‑year‑old Curaçao‑international centre‑back Armando Obispo, transfer journalist Mounir Boualin reported on Friday evening. Lens submitted a bid of three to four million euros, but the Eindhoven club insists on better terms despite Obispo’s contract running to mid‑2027.
Volgens Boualin, the defender was the number two of the previous Ligue 1 season, and Lens’ offer of three to four million euros fell short of PSV’s expectations.
PSV indicated they are prepared to facilitate Obispo’s exit, but only if Lens improves the financial package. The Eindhovenaren are ready to work with the Curaçao‑international, yet they demand better terms.
The next decision now rests with Lens, which must return to Noord‑Brabant with an enhanced proposal. The region, home to PSV, will host any further negotiations.
Obispo, 27, has been with PSV since he was seven, marking roughly twenty years at the Eindhoven club. He previously spent a loan spell at Vitesse and featured as a starter for Curaçao at the WK.
With his contract secured until mid‑2027, PSV stands to receive a fee should the move materialise. The opening bid was characterised as an initial proposal, signalling Lens’ interest in strengthening their defence.
