Barnsley chase defensive solidity with Dutch Curacao defender Noslin

🇬🇧 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Inside the echoing stands of Oakwell, Barnsley’s coaching staff surveyed a backline riddled with gaps, knowing a physically robust centre‑back is essential. The arrival of 23‑year‑old Curacao Noslin Dutch defender promises the solidity the League One side has lacked this season.

Tyrese Noslin arrives from Dutch club Telstar for an undisclosed fee. He has signed a three‑year contract with an option for a fourth year, securing the Curacao international on a long‑term basis.

Head coach Daniel Stendel explained that the club had monitored Noslin closely and believed he matches exactly what Barnsley need. Stendel praised the defender’s quality, mentality and hunger to improve, calling him a player who can thrive in demanding environments.

Noslin brings eight international caps for Curacao and has featured in the nation’s campaign for the 2026 World Cup. His experience on the global stage adds a valuable international dimension to the squad.

Before the transfer, Noslin established himself in the Eredivisie with Telstar, gaining valuable experience in Dutch football’s top tier. Consistent performances at that level attracted attention from clubs abroad, including Barnsley.

The defender said the club’s approach convinced him to make the move, adding, “They gave me the feeling that they want me, and they made me feel special.”

For Barnsley, Noslin provides a physically robust option at centre‑back, bolstering a backline that has struggled for stability. The three‑year deal gives him a platform to showcase his abilities in English football and the club expects him to adapt quickly and become a key figure in their defensive setup.
