Arsenal's forward surge hinges on Selina Cerci's proven goal rate

🇬🇧 By 4All Football Editorial ·

Arsenal have completed the signing of German international forward Selina Cerci on a permanent deal, announced in a club press release this morning. The 26‑year‑old arrives from Frauen‑Bundesliga side TSG 1899 Hoffenheim after netting 34 goals in 47 appearances over the past two seasons.

Cerci spent the last two years with Die Kraichgauer, the nickname for Hoffenheim, where she recorded 34 goals in just 47 matches. Before joining Hoffenheim she featured for Bayern Munich II, Werder Bremen, 1. FC Turbine Potsdam and 1. FC Köln. Her prolific scoring record has been a hallmark at each of those clubs.

Across the majority of her club career she has maintained an impressive goals‑to‑game ratio. This consistency provides strong competition in the forward line for Arsenal. The forward’s physical presence and intent complement her statistical output.

On the international stage Cerci has earned 20 caps for Germany, scoring five goals. She was named in the German squad for UEFA Women’s EURO 2025. Her experience at the senior level adds a further dimension to Arsenal’s attack.

Arsenal head coach Renée Slegers said, “I’m so pleased that Selina will be joining our group. She has impressive goalscoring numbers and brings good presence, physicality and forward intent. Combined with her strong work ethic, we feel these qualities make her a great addition to our squad.” The signing makes Cerci Arsenal’s second acquisition of the summer transfer window. The move underscores the club’s ambition to bolster its women’s attacking options.
