ADO Den Haag lands German Lasse Wilhelm on three‑year deal

🇳🇱 By 4All Football Editorial ·

ADO Den Haag have completed their first signing of the summer, securing German defender Lasse Wilhelm. Wilhelm arrives from FC Saarbrücken on a three‑year deal. The move was announced on the club’s official channels on Tuesday at 13:15.

The promotion to the Eredivisie after a five‑year absence has left ADO eager to add defensive depth. Technical director Mark Wotte highlighted Wilhelm’s solid football education and mental attitude as key factors. The club believes the 23‑year‑old can develop further in the Dutch top flight.

Wilhelm spent last season in Duitsland’s third tier, where FC Saarbrücken battled relegation. He previously progressed through the youth academy of FSV Mainz 05 but never made a senior appearance for the club. At 23, the centre‑back brings experience of a senior campaign despite limited exposure.

Wotte said, “Lasse is a young defender with a good football education and the right mentality to develop further.” He added, “We see a lot of potential in him and are convinced ADO offers an excellent environment for the next step in his career.” The statement underscores the club’s confidence in his future contribution.

For ADO, Wilhelm becomes the first addition to a squad that must adapt to Eredivisie demands in Nederland. For the German (Duitser) defender, the contract provides a three‑year platform to showcase his abilities in the Netherlands. Both parties view the partnership as a mutually beneficial step forward.
