€5 million gap forces AS Roma to chase Mason Greenwood fast

🇮🇹

AS Roma and Olympique de Marseille are currently separated by a €5 million gap in their valuations for English winger Mason Greenwood, with the French club asking €50 million including bonuses while Roma target around €45 million. Coach Gian Piero Gasperini hopes to finalise the deal at the club’s Trigoria training camp in ten days.

Gian Piero Gasperini sees Greenwood as the first gift he expects from AS Roma, believing the 2001‑born English winger will elevate the Giallorossi’s attacking line to the next level. He has described the player as the key to enhancing Roma’s offensive options.

Mason Greenwood has given priority to AS Roma, but the club must step up their game to close the deal with Olympique de Marseille. Gasperini plans to meet Greenwood at Trigoria in ten days, coinciding with the team’s training camp.

D’Amico may play a pivotal role, having found an ally in Olympique de Marseille. His involvement could help bridge the negotiation gap between the two clubs.

Olympique de Marseille has no intention of dragging out the sale, aiming to finance their transfer window through the transaction. Intensified contacts in recent hours have prompted the French club to lower its asking price from €55 million to €50 million, bonuses included.

The €50 million figure remains above the amount earmarked by AS Roma. At Trigoria, Roma had anticipated an offer of €40 million plus bonuses, but insiders feel the deal could close at €45 million.

AS Roma remains the most popular destination for Greenwood, having agreed on a salary of €4.5 million plus bonuses. Nevertheless, the club must act quickly as Fenerbahçe and Atlético Madrid are also reportedly interested.

The upcoming Trigoria camp in ten days will be decisive in determining whether Greenwood joins AS Roma or moves to another suitor. A swift agreement could see the transfer completed before the summer window closes.
