€25m release clause fuels Premier League chase for Reims striker

🇫🇷

A fee of around €25 million could trigger Keito Nakamura's release clause, prompting interest from several Premier League clubs. The 25‑year‑old striker, who currently plays for Stade de Reims, is being linked with Everton, Bournemouth and Fulham.

Nakamura is under contract with Stade de Reims until 2028, securing the French side with a long‑term deal. The clause allows him to leave if a satisfactory offer emerges during the summer transfer window.

Reims acquired Nakamura from Austrian club LASK in 2023 for a reported €12 million. Since joining the Red and Whites, he has become one of the squad's most reliable players.

Last season, Nakamura started 29 of the 32 league matches he featured in. He contributed 14 goals and three assists across all competitions.

Internationally, Nakamura represented Japan at the World Cup. He started all four of Japan's matches, scoring once and providing an assist.

Stade de Reims finished sixth in last season's Ligue 2 campaign. His contributions were part of the campaign that saw Reims finish sixth in Ligue 2.

The interest was reported by journalist Léo Aschi. His report highlights the growing attention Premier League sides are giving to proven forwards in continental leagues.
