Forest's boost: signing London Lionesses defender Cerys Brown
Nottingham Forest have secured the services of 21‑year‑old defender Cerys Brown on a two‑year contract, completing her permanent return after a loan spell in the second half of last season. The move was announced via an official club press release this evening.
Brown made nine appearances for London City Lionesses, helping the club achieve a solid finish to their inaugural season in the Barclays WSL2. She is a product of the Chelsea youth system, highlighting her development pedigree.
She initially joined London City Lionesses on loan ahead of the 2024/2025 campaign and signed permanently with the club in February 2025. Brown then contributed to The Pride’s Barclays WSL2 title triumph at the end of that season.
After re‑joining Nottingham Forest on a permanent basis, Brown said, “I’m so happy to be here. Coming to Forest on loan was a great experience but it’s really exciting to be able to properly settle into the team. Putting on a Forest shirt to play for the Club is a completely different feeling and to walk out at The City Ground in front of the supporters is really special, so I am buzzing to experience that again.”
Brown is Nottingham Forest’s third signing of the summer transfer window, adding defensive depth to the squad. For Brown, the two‑year deal offers stability and the chance to play regularly in front of Forest supporters at The City Ground.
