Dorgu debuts with goal as Man Utd beat Brighton 3-0
Manchester United defender Patrick Dorgu marked his full debut with a header in the 2-0 win against Brighton & Hove Albion.
The £25m signing from Lecce scored United’s first goal in the 12th minute, converting a Marcus Rashford cross. Brighton had no answer as Dorgu’s early strike set the tone for a dominant display.
Dorgu, capped once by Denmark, started on the left of Manchester United’s front three under Erik ten Hag. The Italian-born defender arrived from Lecce in February 2025, completing a permanent move after a successful loan.
United’s 3-0 victory saw goals from Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes, with André Onana making key saves in goal. Dorgu’s performance earned praise from Ten Hag, who called his display "impressive" after the match.
The win extends United’s unbeaten run to five games in the Premier League, keeping them in the top-four race. Dorgu’s goal marks his first competitive strike for the club.
Dorgu will face Burnley next as United aim to build on their strong recent form.
