Celtic eyes Gineitis as Engels replacement

🇬🇧

Celtic may make a move for Torino's Lithuania midfielder Gvidas Gineitis, 22, as a replacement for Belgium international Arne Engels, 22. Engels is being tracked by Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest, and Roma. Celtic is looking for a replacement as they expect bids for their Japan forward Daizen Maeda, 28.

The club's interest in Gineitis stems from his potential to fill the gap left by Engels' possible departure. Gineitis has been playing for Torino and has gained experience in the Italian league.

Meanwhile, other Scottish clubs are also involved in transfer news. Dundee defender Luke Graham, 22, is set for a seven-figure move to either Portsmouth or Stoke City.

Rangers midfielder Thelo Aasgaard, 24, is being linked with Atalanta, whose head coach Mauricio Sarri is a fan of the Norway international.

Dundee United are closing in on German former Ross County goalkeeper Jordan Amissah, 24. The club is strengthening its squad with new signings, including defender Michael Forbes, 22, who hopes to use his move to force his way into the Northern Ireland squad.

The transfer window is active, with many clubs looking to strengthen their squads. Celtic's pursuit of Gineitis is a strategic move to replace Engels and maintain their competitive edge.
