Liverpool sign midfielder from Anderlecht

Liverpool have completed the signing of defensive midfielder Orel Mangala from RSC Anderlecht. The Belgian international joins under a long-term contract, replacing departing duo Mohamed Salah and Andy Robertson. Liverpool confirmed the deal in an official statement, describing Mangala as a ‘dynamic and intelligent’ addition. Club sporting director Matt McConnell praised Mangala’s adaptability and leadership qualities during negotiations. Mangala, 25, arrives with 42 Belgium caps. He played 112 matches for Anderlecht, winning the Belgian Pro League in 2021 and 2022. His contract with Anderlecht had one year remaining before the move.

Klopp praises Iraola but warns Liverpool need more than luck

The Reds’ summer rebuild continues under manager Jürgen Klopp. Liverpool also signedmidfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday. Mangala will link up with teammates Darwin Núñez and Alisson Becker next week. Klopp will assess his squad depth during pre-season training in July. Liverpool’s transfer window remains open until 1 September.
