🇩🇪 22 May 2026
Idioma: ES PT
Manuel Neuer has been named in Germany's 26‑man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. The 40‑year‑old goalkeeper had stepped away from international duty after Euro 2024 but is back for the tournament. Neuer previously guarded the posts for Germany at the 2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022 World Cups. He has earned 124 caps for the national team while playing for Bayern Munich. Head coach Julian Nagelsmann announced few surprises in the selection. Among the notable inclusions are Bayern Munich teammates Joshua Kimmich and Jamal Musiala, as well as Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz. On the day the squad was revealed, it emerged that Jamal Musiala was involved in a highway accident last year. He was driving at 194 km/h in a 120 km/h zone, causing light injuries to the other vehicle’s driver and passenger, and consequently surrendered his licence and received a fine. Germany will open the tournament on 14 June against Curaçao. The team has been drawn in a group with Ivory Coast and Ecuador. Germany exited the group stage in both the 2018 and 2022 editions, while the 2014 triumph came after a 1‑0 final win over Argentina and a 7‑1 semi‑final victory over Brazil. The upcoming tournament will mark Germany's 21st World Cup appearance, second only to Brazil's record. The full squad includes goalkeepers Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich), Oliver Baumann (Hoffenheim) and Alexander Nübel (Stuttgart). Defenders such as Nico Schlotterbeck, Waldemar Anton, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rüdiger, Nathaniel Brown, David Raum, Malick Thiaw and Joshua Kimmich are listed. Midfielders feature Felix Nmecha, Angelo Stiller, Jamal Musiala, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Leon Goretzka, Pascal Groß, Nadiem Amiri and Florian Wirtz. The attacking line comprises Deniz Undav, Jamie Leweling, Lennart Karl, Maximilian Beier, Kai Havertz, Leroy Sané and Nick Woltemade.
