Kees de Boer fulfills dream at Salernitana in Italy

Kees de Boer lives his dream playing for US Salernitana 1919 in Salerno, Italy. He settled in an apartment on the Amalfi Coast after navigating injuries, coronavirus restrictions and Brexit regulations.

US Salernitana 1919 competed in Serie A two seasons ago. The club dropped to Serie C two years later.

Early in his Italian stint, acquaintances called him “Frank” after Frank de Boer. The reference helped him blend in initially.
