Liverpool move on Rio Ngumoha after Bayern approach
Liverpool are preparing a response after Bayern Munich approached 17‑year‑old winger Rio Ngumoha. The Bavarians' interest was reported by Florian Plettenberg.
Plettenberg said Ngumoha had reached a verbal agreement with Bayern Munich, although no club‑to‑club talks had taken place. David Ornstein added that FC Hollywood remain hopeful of concluding a deal.
Ngumoha signed his first professional contract after turning 17 last August, a three‑year deal that now has two years remaining. Liverpool risk losing him on a free in 2028, prompting Richard Hughes to line up a new long‑term contract with improved terms.
Vincent Kompany had identified Ngumoha as an ideal signing for Bayern Munich, outlining a career path for the left winger. Ngumoha will be eligible to sign a new deal after his 18th birthday, and with Arne Slot no longer in charge Liverpool could see him become a regular starter next season.
