AC Milan takes Serie A lead as Juventus faces late threat
AC Milan moved into Serie A’s Champions League spot after Sunday’s 2-1 win over Hellas Verona.
AS Roma maintained third place with a 1-0 victory against Bologna. Como kept its hopes alive with a 3-2 upset of Inter Milan.
Juventus drew 1-1 at home to Udinese, dropping two points behind fourth-placed Napoli. The result leaves Juventus needing a win over Lazio next weekend to secure a top-four finish.
Sunday’s results leave AC Milan top with 78 points, two ahead of Roma and three clear of Como. Napoli sit fourth on 75 points.
The top seven will qualify for next season’s Champions League under the new UEFA format. Lazio’s 4-1 win over Atalanta kept them in fifth.
The final-day showdown between Juventus and Lazio will decide the last Champions League spot.
