Tottenham Hotspur have secured Czech goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky on a new five‑year contract with an additional season option after Roberto De Zerbi, the club’s new head coach, confirmed he will be the first‑choice keeper for the upcoming campaign, while Guglielmo Vicario is being linked with a Serie A exit.

Kinsky’s ascent accelerated after De Zerbi took over, reversing a period where he struggled for opportunities under former manager Thomas Frank. His 17‑minute substitution against Atletico Madrid could have stalled his progress, but the new coach’s confidence changed the narrative.

With Vicario sidelined by injury, Kinsky was handed a run of games and delivered a series of assured performances. Those displays convinced De Zerbi that the Czech international is ready to assume the long‑term goalkeeper role.

TeamTalk reported: “The Czech international has agreed a new five‑year deal, which also includes an option for a further season, alongside a substantial pay rise that underlines his new status within the club.” The contract cements Kinsky’s position as Tottenham’s first‑choice keeper.

Tottenham had previously scouted high‑profile alternatives such as Bart Verbruggen and James Trafford. Opting for Kinsky avoided a potential outlay of more than £50 million on a new signing.

The club also secured Martin Dubravka to add veteran experience and competition between the posts. Dubravka’s arrival mitigates the risk associated with Kinsky’s youth.

Reports indicate Tottenham are working with intermediaries to facilitate Guglielmo Vicario’s departure, with Serie A emerging as the most likely destination. Should the move materialise, the goalkeeping overhaul will be complete before the new campaign begins.
