Roma’s future hinges on Marash Kumbulla’s indecision in Rome
Albanian centre‑back Marash Kumbulla told Corriere dello Sport that he is unsure whether he will remain at Serie A club Roma. The 2000‑born defender said, “I don’t know if I will stay at Roma.” His future in Rome therefore hangs in the balance.
He added, “For now, I’m in Rome, then we’ll see if I can play my cards right or if we’ll instead seek a mutually agreed‑appointed solution with the club.” He indicated that such a solution could involve leaving Roma.
“If I stay in Rome, fine; I’ve never had any problems,” Kumbulla said. He also said a longer‑term project would be preferable if a stay does not materialise.
The former Verona player expressed a preference for remaining in Serie A or moving to Spain, stating “It doesn’t matter, although I think Serie A and La Liga are the best leagues for me.” He believes both Italy and La Liga suit his playing style.
Roma must now decide whether to pursue a mutually agreed‑appointed departure or offer a renewed contract, with both sides yet to announce a final agreement. The defender’s indecision leaves the club’s plans for the upcoming season open.
