Tottenham Hotspur bolster goalkeeping with Norway’s Selma Panengstuen

🇬🇧

Tottenham Hotspur have signed 23‑year‑old Norwegian international goalkeeper Selma Panengstuen, announced in an official club press release earlier today. The North London club secured the keeper from Toppserien champions SK Brann, adding a two‑cap senior Norway international to their squad.

Spurs’ manager Martin Ho previously coached Panengstuen at SK Brann, giving him direct insight into her abilities and development. Her experience across several Norwegian clubs – Raufoss IL, Stabæk and Kolbotn IL – aligns with Tottenham’s aim to deepen squad depth in the Women’s Super League.

Panengstuen contributed to SK Brann’s Toppserien title in the 2025 season, showcasing her capacity to perform at the highest domestic level. Internationally, she has earned two senior caps for Norway, indicating her readiness for top‑flight competition.

Speaking after the announcement, Panengstuen expressed enthusiasm for the move, saying, “This is a very exciting Club and a project that is going upwards. I want to be a part of it because I really believe in it.” She added that friends at the club have spoken highly of Spurs and that she looks forward to training, playing games and living her dream in North London.

For Tottenham, Panengstuen provides a young, internationally‑capped option to compete for the starting role in a demanding league. For the Norwegian keeper, the transfer offers exposure to the Women’s Super League and a platform to further her international ambitions.

The acquisition marks Tottenham’s fifth signing of the summer, underscoring a busy transfer window aimed at strengthening the squad. The club’s strategy reflects a broader push to compete for honours in the Women’s Super League.
