Manchester United's €50‑55m chase for Dutch winger Summerville
Manchester United have opened negotiations with West Ham United for the transfer of 24‑year‑old Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, with the English club reportedly valuing him at €50‑55 million. Summerville, who logged 34 appearances for West Ham last season with seven goals and five assists, impressed at the World Cup.
Manchester United’s interest follows Summerville’s impressive 2023‑24 campaign with West Ham United, where he recorded seven goals and five assists. His performances at the recent World Cup, where he helped the Netherlands reach the knockout stage, further raised his profile.
Last month, VoetbalPrimeur reported that Paris Saint‑Germain were also competing for his signature. West Ham United have set a valuation of €50‑55 million for the 24‑year‑old winger.
Transfer journalist Ben Jacobs said Manchester United and West Ham have now opened discussions, with United sources describing the talks as exploratory. Summerville is reportedly high on United’s shortlist and could be considered as a replacement should Marcus Rashford depart.
Summerville featured in 34 official matches for West Ham last season. His contribution of seven goals and five assists underscored his growing influence on the right flank.
At the World Cup, Summerville earned a starting berth for the Netherlands after impressing in training. He was directly involved in the goals against Japan, Sweden and Morocco, showcasing his ability on the international stage.
If United secure the deal, they would add a versatile winger while potentially offsetting the loss of Rashford. For West Ham, the transfer would provide a substantial fee to reinvest in their squad.
