Juventus' €40m bid for Svilar hits Roma's €50m price tag

🇮🇹

At the Juventus Football Club headquarters, directors gathered after a failed pursuit of Dibu Martinez, prompting an immediate outreach to A.S. Roma’s Mattia Svilar. The Italian giants have tabled a €40 million offer to secure the former Benfica goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.

Il Messaggero reports Juventus Football Club has formally proposed €40 million for Svilar. The bid reflects the club’s urgency after Dibu Martinez proved difficult to acquire.

A.S. Roma’s stance remains firm: the club will not sell Svilar and would only consider negotiations if an offer between €50 million and €55 million materialises. That price range currently exceeds Juventus Football Club’s apparent budget.

Gian Piero Gasperini regards Svilar as a cornerstone of his side and has no intention of letting the goalkeeper depart during their Champions League return season. His commitment aligns with the club’s broader ambition to compete at Europe’s highest level.

Matteo Moretto confirms Juventus Football Club has reached out to both A.S. Roma and Svilar’s entourage. The Giallorossi club wishes to retain the goalkeeper, echoing Gasperini’s wishes.

Roma is expected to finalize the sale of a key player by today, which has accelerated Juventus Football Club’s effort to clarify the terms of Svilar’s potential exit.
