Arsenal’s £35m wing gamble depends on Trossard Besiktas exit

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Arsenal are ready to finalise the transfer of Christos Tzolis from Club Brugge for a fee reported to be around £35 million. The deal hinges on Leandro Trossard’s potential move to Besiktas, which would clear the way for the Gunners’ first wide signing.

Almost a month after initial interest was reported, Dean Mouhtaropoulos/Getty Images showed the Gunners’ scouting activity in London.

Kostas Lianos reports for The S*n that Arsenal view Tzolis as a solution to left‑wing depth, especially with Gabriel Martinelli already in the squad and a possible addition of Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers.

The club prefers to secure Tzolis only after Trossard’s exit to avoid a congested left side.

Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal have kept regular contact with Tzolis’ camp throughout the summer, and the player is keen on the move.

Arsenal have already agreed a €20 million (€17.1 million) deal with Besiktas for Trossard, with €18 million upfront and €2 million in add‑ons, pending Belgium’s exit from the World Cup.

Belgium’s elimination by Spain on Friday night triggered the first domino, allowing the Trossard transfer to proceed and subsequently open the path for Tzolis.

Michael Campanella/Getty captured the celebratory atmosphere in London as the two deals near completion.

Timothy Rogers/Getty also documented the signing paperwork being prepared at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium.

Carl Recine/Getty highlighted the financial boost for Club Brugge, noting the €35 million inflow will aid their summer rebuilding plans.

If both moves finalize, Arsenal will add a versatile winger while Club Brugge secures a substantial fee, and Besiktas strengthens its attacking options.
