Inter Milan activates buy-back clause on Stanković
Inter Milan triggered a buy‑back clause to bring defensive midfielder Aleksandar Stanković back from Club Brugge. The activation ends the three‑year spell the Serbian player spent in Belgium.
Club Brugge had signed Stanković from Inter in the previous summer. The Belgian side offered him a contract that runs until 2029.
Exercising the clause obliges Inter to pay Club Brugge a substantial bonus. The fee compensates Brugge for the early termination of the 2029 contract.
Stanković returns to Inter’s midfield roster for the upcoming Serie A campaign. Brugge will use the received sum to adjust its squad ahead of the new season.
Inter’s squad chief indicated the player will compete for a starting role. Brugge’s sporting director will continue scouting to replace the departing midfielder.
