Liverpool have confirmed they are actively working on three alternative attacking targets while keeping 19‑year‑old Yan Diomande as their clear priority. An improved proposal, believed to be worth around €115 million, is being prepared after an initial offer was rejected by RB Leipzig.

The defender has enjoyed an outstanding breakthrough campaign with RB Leipzig and is currently concentrating on Ivory Coast’s historic World Cup campaign. His performances have attracted interest from Paris Saint Germain, adding further pressure on Liverpool’s pursuit.

RB Leipzig have stood firm over their valuation, rejecting Liverpool’s opening offer for Diomande. The club’s recruitment model, now overseen by new head coach Andoni Iraola, continues to emphasize careful planning over emotional decision‑making.

Ben Jacobs told Redmen TV that the three other targets are Matias Fernandez Pardo, who is also at the World Cup, Said El Mala, who has attracted Premier League interest, and Brighton winger Yacouba Minteh – also referred to as Yankuba Minteh. Bradley Barcola remains a player previously admired by Liverpool, underscoring the breadth of their scouting.

Jacobs explained, “We are actively working on those alternatives simply because it gives you leverage in the market as well,” highlighting the club’s contingency strategy. He added that, similar to Andrea Berta’s approach at Arsenal, Liverpool can point to other available options to negotiate a better deal with Leipzig.

Diomande said, “Right now, I don’t know. I am not thinking about my future after the World Cup. I am trying to put all my energy into the World Cup,” making clear his focus lies elsewhere. Liverpool can continue negotiations behind the scenes while the defender concentrates on Ivory Coast’s campaign.
