Club Brugge Secure 20th Belgian Championship After Draw at Mechelen

🇧🇪

Club Brugge secured their twentieth Belgian Pro League championship after a 2-2 draw against KV Mechelen on the final matchday. The result confirmed the club as league winners for the season.

The stalemate at Mechelen ensured the club could not be overtaken in the standings, confirming their top‑spot. The draw locked in the points needed to stay ahead of rivals.

The team is coached by Ivan Leko, who guided them throughout the season. Leko’s leadership was highlighted by the title clinch.

Dutch internationals Dani van den Heuvel and Bjorn Meijer featured in the match. Their presence added experience to the side on the decisive day.

Meanwhile, Union's 0-0 draw with AA Gent meant the challengers could not close the gap on Brugge. The rival result removed any chance of overtaking the leaders.

The title marks a milestone as the twentieth league triumph in the club’s history. It adds to Club Brugge’s record of domestic success.

Club Brugge will now look ahead to the upcoming season with the confidence of a championship win. The squad aims to build on the achievement in future competitions.
