Analysts hail Saibari while Bayern lines up €55 million deal
Analysts André Ooijer and Ron Jans praised Ismael Saibari’s rapid rise after he netted three goals for Morocco at the World Cup, while Bayern München announced a €55 million acquisition of the 25‑year‑old PSV midfielder. The contract runs to mid‑2031, and the move follows Saibari’s 93 Eredivisie appearances, 31 goals and 24 assists that helped PSV claim three league titles.
André Ooijer noted that Saibari’s talent had been evident for years, but the midfielder’s development surged in the last one and a half to two years. He recalled that PSV’s youth academy had always recognised Saibari’s ability, stating that his potential was never in doubt.
Saibari learned to critique himself, taking responsibility for occasional lateness and addressing concerns about his physical weight. Ooijer praised his willingness to accept feedback and described him as a pleasant personality off the pitch.
Ron Jans recalled facing Saibari when FC Utrecht met PSV, a match that ended 4‑3 in PSV’s favour. He emphasized that the defeat was caused by Saibari’s brilliance rather than the collective team performance.
Jans highlighted Saibari’s election as Eredivisie Player of the Year, noting his modesty despite the accolade. He added that Saibari’s family were present, and he exuded pride and confidence during their brief conversation.
During his spell at PSV, Saibari featured in 93 Eredivisie matches, contributing 31 goals and 24 assists. His contributions coincided with three Eredivisie championships for the Eindhoven club.
Bayern München agreed to pay €55 million to secure Saibari’s services from PSV. The midfielder will join Der Rekordmeister on a contract that extends to mid‑2031.
