Midtjylland's double pursuit: Kristensen signs, Dolberg still in talks

Idioma: ES PT

Rasmus Kristensen is set to join FC Midtjylland permanently, with the German Sky Sport reporting a six‑million‑euro fee from Eintracht Frankfurt, while Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg remains in transfer discussions, leaving his future in Denmark uncertain after a summer of speculation and personal reasons cited for his return.

The transfer of Kristensen had lingered, but the 28‑year‑old defender is now set to return to his home country. If fit, he was a regular starter for Midtjylland last season, and the German branch of Sky Sport reported the move after the Danish outlet Tipsbladet cited personal reasons.

Eintracht Frankfurt is expected to receive roughly six million euros for the move, the same sum the club paid Leeds United a year earlier for the 34‑cap Danish international. Frankfurt deliberately chose to allow Kristensen a return to Denmark.

Midtjylland spent the summer dreaming of securing both Kristensen and Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg. Director Kristian Bach Bak has openly expressed hope that the club can land the former Ajax back‑hander and the Danish forward.

Dolberg remains good friends with Kristensen after their shared spell at Ajax, and De reported that Midtjylland is already in talks with the Dutch club about his transfer. The striker appeared at Ajax’s first training session of the new season on Friday.

Kristensen’s confirmed move provides a concrete example of Midtjylland’s recruitment strategy. Whether Dolberg will follow depends on the outcome of ongoing negotiations. Confirmation from the clubs is still awaited.
